Information about the Olympic Games held in London from 27 July to 12 August 2012, followed by the 2012 Paralympic Games from 29 August to 9 September

2012 is sometimes claimed to be a great year of spiritual transformation, Do you think this can this effect the 29th Olympiad? London has already hosted the Olympics twice before in 1908 and 1948, could be it be 3rd time lucky?

Following the success of London's bid to host the games, The London Organising Committee for the Olympic Games, chaired by Lord Coe, are tasked with the organisation and smooth running of London 2012.

LO2012 will take place in a variety of venues across London, using existing and historic facilities aswell as new facilities being built. Many of the new facilities will be reused and the plans are part of the regeneration of East London and the Thames Gateway. Construction of the venues and infrastructure is in the hands of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA).
